i liked it and thot i could share it here....
A very valuable lesson to learn ...
Interesting quote from the movie 'Why did I get married?'In most cases, especially in relationships, you will only get 80% ofwhat you NEED and you will hardly get the other 20% that you WANT inyour relationship. There is always another person (man or women) thatyou will meet and that will offer you the other 20% which is lackingin your relationship that you WANT and believe me, 20% looks reallygood when you are not getting it at all in your current relationship.But the problem is that you will always be tempted to leave that good80% that you know you have, thinking that you will get somethingbetter with the other 20% that you WANTBut as reality has proven, in most cases, you will always end up withhaving the 20% that you WANT and loosing the 80% that you really NEEDand that you already had.Be careful in deciding between what you WANT and NEED in your life.
Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. 'Wow,this girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Riderfeatures that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's alsounderstanding, intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse isnot'
Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be morecharming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Havegreater sex appeal.. And you will find a woman or man who will needyou and pursue you and go loco over you more than your spouse everdid.
Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have80% of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husbandor wife looks for the missing 20%. Let's say your wife is melancholicby nature.
You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laughno matter what she says: 'I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha . . ...'
Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smellingof garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young salesrepresentative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, highheels, and a red pencil-cut skirt Or because your husband is the quiettype, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flamewho has the makings of a talk show host.
But wait! That's only 20% of what you don't have.
Don't throw away the 80% that you already have!
That's not all. Add to your spouse's 80% the 100% that represents allthe years that you have been with each other. The storms you haveweathered together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as acouple. The many adjustments you have made to love the other. Thewealth of memories that you've accumulated as lovers.
Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have.
But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already have.
But I'm not just talking about marriage.
I'm talking about life!
About your jobs.About your friends.About your children.About your lifestyles.
Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeksthrough the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he'smissing? 'They have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served inporcelain! Wow, their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've gotpersonal videos!'
I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live yourlife like that. Forget about what the world says is first class. Doyou know that there are many first class passengers who are miserablein first class -- because they are not riding in a private Lear Jet?
The main message???
If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are,you are first class!

It has been a long time since i have posted. I do take a long time to format what i'm thinking and to allow it to appear as a post. I feel watched (though i'm aware that only I am reading my blog). But the funny thing is a blog is made to be watched.
How does one ramble on. How does one talk on a blog all the time, everyday. And how without a dialogue can one keep talking, posting and commenting to oneself ? I wonder if people write their own posts and comment on them themselves. I wonder??? At which point does a blog start getting noticed and and which post does somebody feel like commenting. I find people blogging about all and everything; their trips, their family, first baby, their wedding, recipes, global warming, etc etc.
With a name like dustpan, i feel responsible enough to post only the dust that i intend to treasure.... :)

i like this poem
William Wordsworth
--A simple child,
That lightly draws its breath,
And feels its life in every limb,
What should it know of death?
I met a little cottage girl:
She was eight years old, she said;
Her hair was thick with many a curl
That clustered round her head.
She had a rustic, woodland air,
And she was wildly clad:
Her eyes were fair, and very fair;
Her beauty made me glad.
"Sisters and brothers, little maid,
How many may you be?"
"How many? Seven in all," she said,
And wondering looked at me.
"And where are they? I pray you tell."
She answered, "Seven are we;
And two of us at Conway dwell,
And two are gone to sea.
"Two of us in the churchyard lie,
My sister and my brother;
And, in the churchyard cottage, I
Dwell near them with my mother."
"You say that two at Conway dwell,
And two are gone to sea,
Yet ye are seven! I pray you tell,
Sweet maid, how this may be."
Then did the little maid reply,
"Seven boys and girls are we;
Two of us in the churchyard lie,
Beneath the churchyard tree."
"You run about, my little maid,
Your limbs they are alive;
If two are in the churchyard laid,
Then ye are only five."
"Their graves are green, they may be seen,
"The little maid replied,
"Twelve steps or more from my mother's door,
And they are side by side.
"My stockings there I often knit,
My kerchief there I hem;
And there upon the ground I sit,
And sing a song to them.
"And often after sunset, sir,
When it is light and fair,
I take my little porringer,
And eat my supper there.
"The first that died was sister Jane;
In bed she moaning lay,
Till God released her of her pain;
And then she went away.
"So in the churchyard she was laid;
And, when the grass was dry,
Together round her grave we played,
brother John and I.
"And when the ground was white with snow
And I could run and slide,
My brother John was forced to go,
And he lies by her side."
"How many are you, then," said I,
"If they two are in heaven?
"Quick was the little maid's reply,
"O master! we are seven."
"But they are dead; those two are dead!
Their spirits are in heaven!"
'Twas throwing words away; for still
The little maid would have her will,
And said, "Nay, we are seven!"

any ideas?
It suddenly occured to me that i have a picture of myself pasted on this blog, which i innocently or ignorantly picked up from web images of dustpans.
This one appealed to me. I wish to give credit to whoever it belongs to...but how?
I dont know if its the right thing to do......even cut-pasting somebody elses product....copyright etc. ?
If it were lines from a poem i could say i really like these lines and they are written by so and so but what more can i do than pasting a link to the man who makes these items. so here it is
for now the simplest thing i can do is to post the link to his site. I wish somebody does go over and buy his dustpan.. :)

new dustpan
As a child, when i walked along the road i've often found fascinating objects lying around. Broken, useless, curious objects that formed parts of toys for me. These too travelled from dustpan to trash....or more often to my treasure chest.
hope to find some treasures again.
